Collaborative and Professional Learning

I can see how we as educational leaders one can benefit from creating a blog.  It would give professionals the opportunity to set up communities of learners and each blog could be created with different topics in mind to created professional learning communities.

Pertinent to action research; it is described in the two words itself...Research in 'Action'.  This approach gives the learner the freedom and opportunity to work on his/her strengths but also be able to focus on the weaknesses.  A student will only gain as much as s/he invests.  The research that I have encountered has ranged from reading a variety of resources, talking with other professionals, collecting data, analyzing data, and reflecting on my findings.  The amount of knowledge gained will depend on the amount of time and reflection invested.  Additionally, planning and organizing oneself will be critical to ascertain positive outcomes and in the case of the student be able to not only be able to pass the TExES assessment but additionally be able to have a final product of a vitae and an electronic portfolio which highlights one's weaknesses, but most importantly strengths.  This is one quality that is important especially as a life-long learner.
